A track record of transforming complex assets into award winning spaces

Our boutique structure as a privately-held company provides the flexibility
to underwrite and execute deals of all asset types, sizes, and structures. We are seasoned lifestyle developers with expertise in high-rise construction, adaptive reuse, and repositioning.

We have tackled some of the most complex entitlement, tax credit, and construction assignments, with a track record of success. With over 20 years of experience providing expertise in lifestyle real estate, we have the resources and relationships to deploy bespoke responses to unique real estate opportunities.

Utilizing this approach, our team has developed more than a dozen award-winning hotels and twenty-five F&B operations, totaling over 3,400 keys and 2.2 million gross square feet, with combined development budgets of more than $1.5 billion.

Central to our approach is the cultivation of one-of-a-kind design and brand identity to bring fresh life, creative energy, and a signature touch to every property.

 Founder - Jake Lamstein

Trestle Studio was founded by Jake Lamstein, a lifelong developer and hotelier. Jake got his start in lifestyle real estate at the Seaward Inn, a family run resort on the coast of Massachusetts.

In 2008, following a five-year tenure with hotelier André Balazs, Jake joined prolific developer Andrew Zobler to help launch Sydell Group, where he served as Managing Partner & Chief Development Officer. In addition to shared oversight of the company, Jake led conceptualization, design, branding, development, and construction. Jake orchestrated the creation and proliferation of the NoMad, LINE, Freehand, and Saguaro brands, while helping grow the company to more than 3,000 employees.

Jake has developed more than a dozen award-winning hotels, twenty-five F&B outlets, and numerous mixed-use assets, totaling over 3,400 keys and 2.2 million square feet, with combined development budgets of more than $1.5 billion. Jake helped orchestrate the $400M sale of the Freehand portfolio in 2019, and the sale of the LINE and Saguaro brands to Soho House in 2021.
